Update!

An Update:
Thank YOU SO MUCH, all those who have given towards my goal!
When the Lord wants something done, He accomplishes it regardless of our time constraints.
It is amazing watching him provide and having people come alongside me in this venture.

As of today, February 19th, I have raised $2500 (including pledges yet to be received)!
Wow!
This means I need $500 more by the end of February.

The Lord is GOOD!

"The LORD will accomplish what concerns me;

Your lovingkindness, O LORD, is everlasting;

Do not forsake the works of Your hands."

Psalm 138:8 NASB

NEPAL

Dear Friend,

I have an amazing opportunity ahead of me that I want to share with you and I would be humbled if you would support me!
I started out this year at Passion 2012 (if you don’t know what that is, simply put 40,000 students in one place lifting up the name of Jesus and the cause of Freedom, = amazing.)

I was confronted with the stark reality of human slavery that still exists in the world today.
27 MILLION slaves – a number almost too big to imagine, more slaves than ever before in history…During Passion we funded many organizations who are on the front lines striving to prevent, rescue and restore victims of slavery.
Empowered with all this information I had the desire to do more, to go, to see and to serve the need around the world.

I have the opportunity to go to Nepal with an organization working with at risk women and children on March 18th 2012 on a two-week trip. Nepal, about the size of Alabama, is one of the poorest countries in the world. This organization is (a non-profit organization) works in Nepal, India and Bangladesh.
Their mission: Fighting poverty and social injustice. 1. Safe Homes for children. Providing safety, a family and education for orphaned and abandoned children – who have the highest risk for forced labor and exploitation.

And 2. Border Patrol Stations. Positioned to intercept the thousands of girls (as young as 6) being trafficked from Nepal into forced prostitution in India. Plus they provide further aftercare for victims, and investigation and prosecution of traffickers.

The purpose of my trip will be to visit and serve the children of the Safe Homes spread throughout Nepal. I will be gaining first-hand knowledge of Nepalese people and culture and gaining a deeper understanding of the needs of the country.
For years now, it has been my desire to travel to Asia. My Dad tells the story of when I was only 4 years old I spoke of wanting to visit the homes of orphans.
The time is now for me to go, to learn, to serve these precious people and I am raising support to go. Would you help me?

The total cost of my trip is $3000. This will cover my roundtrip airfare, food, lodging and transportation while in Nepal, not to mention a life changing experience and memory! I would be honored by your sacrifice of any size towards my endeavor.

I am working on a very short time table; $1700 is due February 7th – in just a few days. The rest of the funds are needed no later than the end of February.

If you are in the Atlanta Vicinity, hand delivery/pick up of checks would greatly expedite this process for me!

If not, OR if it is after Feburary 19th, please email me at sendanna2nepal@gmail.com for the address to mail checks.

Whether or not you are able to lend financial support, you can do something huge! If you would commit to pray for me and the other VisionTeam members you will be investing in this trip in an eternal way – you are greatly appreciated.

For all those involved in this journey with me, I will report back to you about my trip with stories and images!
Thank you from me and the children of Nepal,

Anna

“…if you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry

and satisfy the needs of the oppressed,

then your light will rise in the darkness,
and your night will become like the noonday.

The LORD will guide you always;

he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land

and will strengthen your frame.

 You will be like a well-watered garden,

like a spring whose waters never fail.

Your people will rebuild the ancient ruins

and will raise up the age-old foundations;

you will be called Repairer of Broken Walls,
Restorer of Streets with Dwellings.”
Isaiah 58:10-12
